NEXT FRIDAY EVENING/SATURDAY MORNING OUTLOOK:
TIMING:
Being this far out ahead, The timing will likely vary some as we get closer to the event, (remember, this event hasn’t even developed yet) but here is a very general timeline based on some of our exclusive in house weather systems.
This will likely be a longer duration event as we are going to see a powerful upper level trough slowly move through the area with two main waves of high winds which will be over a period of a couple of days. The first wave will be around Friday evening and with temperatures in the upper 70s on Friday afternoon, It want take much for storms to get going. While the image below doesn’t look as mean for FRIDAY, Long range models struggle with it. We know that Friday evening could be the worst round of the two despite the intensity levels in the depictions. We’ll want to watch out come Friday evening with the first round!
FRIDAY EVENING STORMS
Storms will be developing quickly from to our west and roaring through the area from west to east starting early evening to late evening.
MORE STORMS SATURDAY AFTERNOON…
Storms will likely begin in the late morning to early afternoon Saturday. Notice the time banner on the future model radar system below.
Showers and severe storms will continue into the late afternoon and evening. Below image is showing around 4 pm Saturday.
Storms will likely move further to the east by late Saturday night into middle Tennessee and north Alabama and continue in those areas through early Sunday before moving further eastward.
Unfortunately, when we see severe weather in the long range outlook, It means that confidence is pretty high that some severe weather will happen. Most of the time, We want have severe weather in the outlook past 3 days. Notice that we have severe weather in the Day 6 or NEXT SATURDAY outlook as the severe weather that develops in our direct area will be shifting further east affecting central Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and points south on Sunday.
NEXT SATURDAY’S OUTLOOK:
Severe weather may be coming for Saturday and Sunday for our region. High winds, severe storms, and a higher risk for tornadoes than we’ve had in a long while, so stay with WTWC, The West Tennessee Weather Channel for the latest on your weather ahead.
